The whole Blakey saga is beyond belief. Every day we read and hear more of the saga , who he is talking to, and now that he and his family are upset with his treatment by the Swans management. More and more rumours and falsehoods and which clubs are throwing mega bucks at Blakey. Listening to Keane today , we are non the wiser as even he hasn't he hadn't heard from Blakeys manager that he was talking openly to clubs. Then I watched Trading Day on Fox Footy and they had 2 Herald Sun "experts" and one said that the deal will get done this week. Blah blah blah. There is no way in hell that anything will happen until the police investigation ends with any charges ruminating. Then there is the AFL's investigation and any suspension (if any) coming out of that. Plus there is the contract Blakey has with the Swans. There is nothing going to happen this week or next so the Melb Media mafia can find another false news story to entertain themselves

It makes me sick watching these footy trade shows in the manner which they've been salivating on the prospect of Blakey going to one of the Vic clubs and how it would improve them. They want this to happen and do not show the same frenzic enthusiasm when it's the opposite direction (Buddy comes to mind).

It makes me sick that 6 weeks ago an investigation started, that hasnt finished, and all of a sudden the media are ok with a player involved in the incident and the alleged victims well being isnt paramount.
Read that other thread, very serious allegations, may never play again blah blah blah..... The case is that serious, a club has a 12mil offer at him.

I think the boys got fooled by the women but maybe the Vic media were hustling Sydney into OTT sanctions at the same time by pretending to give a @@@@ about the charges and to plant a few stories for trade week.

Hypocrisy in the AFL is unparalleled

Chris Keane has hopefully phoned his manager and said, get back to Sydney and stop being a sook, we hold all the @@@@ing cards

It’s less about that for me, as I have more faith in Keane that I do in Beatson (and Dalrymple, who gets off lightly) in his latter years, which frankly, were dreadful. Ling to Stephens to the 2022 draft - ugh. It’s notable as Keane progressively took a stronger role we got talent like Green, Datolli and later gems like Cootee.

But the fact is we’re in a window and want high quality players, whatever their age. If Norf wanted to offer two young studs, rather than two draft picks, I might be open to it. But no new coach is gonna do that, so they can jam it.

Just say grab that Pick 5 and go get us a AA CHB

I will be pissed if we get less than the Curnow deal, I will be pissed with draft picks regardless.

north have to get creative if this godfather money deal is to go thru. Chris K and Swalns please play it hard. The deal has to be at least 2 fhigh first rounders 5 ioa not enough. They may have to do a deal with Melb or St kilda to get 2 in the top dozen for this year and probably their ist rind for next year whioxh will make us all square from Curnow deal except for the 2 players in hayward and Florent. Melb has the 2 inside 12, st kild ahs 2 inside 14.. I would now do something if the PRICE IS RIGHT. Otherwise its back to Sydney.

There is a lot of media speculation re Blakey

if it is true that he wants to move clubs then u would expect that his manager and the other clubs interested have done a lot of due diligence (and legal advice) surrounding his circumstances in Melbourne

no club is going to give up a first round pick nor sign a player for a long term contract $1m per season unless they are comfortable Blakey will be playing in 2027 and beyond

or this could be just a media beat up

somthing I forgot to mention or question in my post ealier. Why is the family so (p) I will be p[olite and say peeved off with the treatment of their son Nic. Surely John a much loved member of the North fraternity would not condone getting drunk (and that excludes what happened in the room which I know you cant't) and stay out to 430am in the morning particularly with finals approaching and the team haveing a top chance at that elesive premisrship. Surely it can'be the fact that the 5 players were forced to enter SS HQ via the front entrance and leave the same way (to throng of media vultures) isnot the sore point. And Nic did't leeve by the back way anyway. There has to be in it. But lets get on with it and get a massive pick deal done and let him bank the outlandish $ being offerred . Go Swans get 2 picks inside top ten pluis .

The hypocrisy of the AFL and its associated media parasites is really something to behold. Damien Barrett’s “Sliding Doors…” nonsense may have hit a whole new low this morning.

Turns out the smartest thing Blakey has ever done for his career was be in that room at the Pullman....

The turn around in 6 weeks for trade week is not only astounding but was predictable

Assuming any trade will have to be approved by the womens program

The level of self-glazing from the Melb footy media mafia is something to behold. They've lost all logic and perspective because nothing titillates them more than a DEAL, a big DEAL! And they're all treating it as a given this morning based solely on the size of the dollars on offer, as though the Swans have no say in this.

It's the sort of behaviour usually reserved for teenage boys in the confines of their own bedroom, but this is now happening on national media outlets.

                            Truly circle jerk stuff.

The bidding war has begun...Saints already saying they would part with 3 first rounders...Over to you Kanga's....And you Bombers.
Given the dilution of 2027/28 drafts, we should insist on 2 top end first rounders this year plus either a quality young player or a future pick or 2.
If we are prepared to let him go, then a struggling club please, not a contender.

His time is being seen as untenable at Sydney not because of the live SA charge (no one gives a @@@@) but because of the club treatment for that evening.

Sydney have embarrassed themselves here, AFL have encouraged it and now the vultures are coming.

Read that other thread from 6 weeks ago, this whole saga is disgraceful on every level
