Do you mean if the club knows something and hence may entertain a trade?

Yeah, it's now quite obvious he's a spoilt dickhead and as such, he can ***k off.
I'd say there is an element of truth in what you are saying, however he also needs to understand that he, along with others, put the club in an impossible position. I am sorry that he feels aggrieved by the club, but it may be worth reflecting on his own actions and the part they played in creating the situation before directing his frustration at the club and spitting the dummy and seeking a trade
It's up to the club to get deserved recompense to move him on so he can be someone else's problem.Comment

It's the usual egocentric BS from you know who. Some of posters seem to be saying its the swans fault. How do they make that out. He was the one who was out late getting you know what and rerurned to the pub at about 4.30 am so they say. Deserved to be stood down for this fact alone. We had a p/ship to play for and as it has turned out we did very well in our prelim and woudl have won if the 5 players where available. I was fine with the stand down as I think most fair minded swans supporters were. Not sure what his pld man thought about the late night out getting P'd.Comment

Do you actually enjoy being 100% wrong and just relentlessly annoying?
If Longmire was coach when this alleged incident happened, he and the club would have reacted in exactly the same way......and you know it.
We know you don't like Cox.Comment

have a look at the other thread
Nothing has changed as far as police investigation and Blakey has a 12Mil conyract at him
How TF was I wrongComment

Not to make people even more cranky, but I noticed this bit in the SMH today. North are looking to split pick 5 so they can get two players in the door (Blakey and Murray from the Crows). Their next pick is 45, then it's the mid-60s.

Seriously, bringing Longmire and his departure into this. You have good footy insights, but this has just become tedious and silly now. Please give it a break, you’ve made your point. Don’t be one of those people.
John Blakey is a parent that has not been happy with how the club treated his son, his son that was there in nappies.
Id suggest Blakey Snr would have a better insight than most parents into how footy clubs are run.
Now we know why Longmire got out before the Award night, didnt want to be anywhere near this.👍 1Comment

Gold. Now go jump a shark.
It occurs to me that clubs like Adelaide with a bit of cap space will be able to do deals like this. Offer the old fella two years of playing salary, when they’re effectively brought in as coaches, who are often paid less. The Benjamin Button deal on the GC has a strong element of that about it. So does this. It’s a nice use of footy cap space to subsidise your dept footy soft cap.Comment

Alrighty so the rumour is that Blakey has nominated Norths
i wonder if rather than a draft pick only we may be able to trade players ie the rumours are that Zane Duursma. is wanting to leave North
we have lost Amartey in the forward line
maybe Zane plus a pick ?
yet loosing Blakey (if it happens) and Cunningham and potentially Rampe is a significant backline exodus. Mills most likely out almost all of 2027 also.
McInerney and potentially Serong may feature more prominently off the HB line in 2027 ? Kyle must also be seen as a serious extension to his contract playing out off the backline minimum?
Riak, Snell, Edwards will have to lift significantly !

North going for Blakey certainly signals North have minimal or no concern re the investigation
you don’t offer $11m for 8 seasons unless very comfortable with what 2027 will look like for Blakey"be tough, only when it gets tough"

Alrighty my final thoughts
Out backline will need a serious rebuild
No Blakey, Mills, Cunningham, Rampe most likely
I think that we should be going for Nick Murray despite contracted till end of 2028
ie we we land pick 6 minimum for Blakey and split that into two first round picks - we could then offer $750k pa for Nick Murray to join us for 4 years and in return give a first around for 2026 and a first round for 2028 to Adelaide
any less won’t get the deal done
leaving us with say pick 18ish, 38,39,52,54
Nick Murray is a serious key defender and was in very good form in 2026. Murray would be a great asset and keep our backline looking the real deal for finals.
McCartin, Murray, Wicks
Kyle, Edwards, McInerney
