Professional sport is no doubt a ruthless business but I really feel for Nicks’ mates at the club, particularly Rowie, who are probably torn between loyalty to one friend as opposed to the
good of the team - and potentially his own integrity which may have been challenged by Nicks’ view of this whole situation. Would be tough.Patterns emerge, but do they mean anything? No.Comment

'Over the next three years, the Swans now hold a total of three first-round picks, six second-round picks and four third-round picks.'
North Melbourne Kangaroos land Sydney Swans star Nick Blakey in blockbuster move
I know not all these picks came from the Blakey deal but it all sounds pretty good to me. We've effectively replenished all the picks we gave away for Curnow.
Now, we just have to trust the club on how they use these picks.....so fingers crossed on that!
I know some here don't trust the club at all on that score and I'm sure they will remind us ad nauseum all through the off season......so fingers crossed we can survive that as well.

Well we know Rowie is the ultimate team man so while it may be a bit of a challenge at first, I'm sure he'll get over it better than Nick got over the rightful discipline he was dealt.Professional sport is no doubt a ruthless business but I really feel for Nicks’ mates at the club, particularly Rowie, who are probably torn between loyalty to one friend as opposed to the

It's obvious James is way more mature than spoilt Nick. Maybe Nick could live with Kostanty.....or mummy and daddy.Comment

I have a lot more faith in Keane than I did in Beatson in his final years. We also have options either to use them or deploy them alongside salary cap space. The story with Chad next year also shapes that further, either way.'Over the next three years, the Swans now hold a total of three first-round picks, six second-round picks and four third-round picks.'

But I reckon Keane has shown himself to be very astute, both in the picks he has used, and trading. I’ll back him.
(Now, I need to go read up on the top 10 draft picks).Comment

I really hope your right, because I havent forgiven him for not taking Carmichael - I fully happy for him to prove me worng and select our next AA with pick 6

Or his manager saw the $$$$ signs. On reflection, maybe there’s more to the Blakey saga that the club knows, and hence they are/were not over keen in keeping him. He certainly complained about his treatment, when none of the other 4 did. So it’s possible that the $$’s turned his head and he used the sanction as an excuse! It’s a good conspiracy theory in any case and I get the feeling the club was not happy with him and thought his behaviour was disruptive. Totally different then to the Paps and ROK situation if this was the case.
Nevertheless , we should have screwed Norf harder!!👍 1Comment

I guess that depends if you value picks over proven players, I for one don't but it is what it is, what I would say there is nothing wrong with discussing how poorly we have been with our first round picks and non Academy selections - I dont think anyone will discuss it at nauseum but surely its worthing discussing, that along with should we recruit a midfielder or defender with pick 6 for me thats the most interesting part, along with should we look at a player like Zac Williams to fill the gap short term?'Over the next three years, the Swans now hold a total of three first-round picks, six second-round picks and four third-round picks.'

Was a star before he did his knee
He tore us up in a Pre Season game at Gold Coast, elite kicking.
Ironically Zorko went to fill in the hole they had when Kiddy went down injured, did it well obviously
Was also Brissys best in their GF loss👍 1Comment
