It's odd that last year, with the same list, we had many good away wins and tended to lose at home. Perhaps the game plan has been tweaked to suit the SCG, a little shorter than most Melb grounds, but a lot wider than Etihad. I don't really know, but it seems like if we're getting done on the spread, it would happen more on the wider groundsLeave a comment:

It would be helpful to our cause if we could win in Melbourne...Leave a comment:

Too right Captain. I just hope it's not one of those teasing mediocre years that ends up in tears.Leave a comment:

The flag is up for grabs. What more impetus and motivation do the Swannies need? It's there for the taking.
Go get it boys.

Agree wholeheartedly. It's an even comp, suck it up.

Probably much the same feeling at Carlton right now, Adelaide too after losing to the Collingwood reserves. All part of footyLeave a comment:

Ah it's part of the demented, fun rollercoaster ride that we Swannies faithful strap ourselves in for every year isn't it !!!Leave a comment:

It will be interesting to read this thread throughout the year as one week when we win we start talking our selves up again then the next when we lose we find flaws that will keep us out of the top 8Leave a comment:

Until we can find a functioning forward line that works week in week out, no. We have some wonderful players, but we rely on an even effort across the park and with so many young players in the team, that consistency is a little way off. We just don't have enough superstars yet to carry a flat team...Leave a comment:

It's starting to look like my premiership club rain poncho is really just an $85 plastic bag -
hope I'm wrong though we've still got a long way to go.

Please see my thread re contender thrashings.
Its an open year, its going to be about who has the best team on the park rolling into finals.
Were still top 4 n will b no lower than 5th should pies win tonight.
With bulldogs, bombers, geelong, gws and lions to come no reason we cant win 4 of those n still be up there before we take on the wc in perth who we are the last team to beat there.Leave a comment:

Horse bolted?Aaaaaand the answer is... "not really". I just got sucked in by one good win against Hawthorn!

I expect we will win enough games at home to sneak into the 8, maybe challenge for the 6.
I always felt this year was too early for us - the young guns that were killing it in the early rounds aren't all firing together at the moment - AJ, Parko, Hanners, Sammy etc etc. That's to be expected, they're just kids. There's plenty of improvement to come, which is great - but we won't be consistent enough to seriously challenge this year.Leave a comment:
