Is Ticketek cooked ?

The AFL don't really give a rats, the club's hands are tied...
You'd think with all the money they make out of broadcast rights, they'd get this little thing right. FFS... no games are being played for TWO weeks. They could stagger the ticket sales over the next two weeks and everyone will be happy.

Yeah but that implies the AFL has common sense, which is something they've ever shown us they have.

Ticketmaster did upgrade their systems a few years ago and seem to not have the regular meltdowns that ticketek do - who I am sure still are running on a Commodore 64 or similar backend system.

Hehe we all wish we didn't have to deal with ticketek

If I lived in Sydney I'd look at the Premium memberships, but not when I only get to 5 or 6 games a year at home (and prefer to put the extra towards away trips to be honest!).

I've always wondered whether, at least for reserved seat memberships, whether there has been active consideration of letting those members be able just to get their normal seats, with an additional payment of course... would frustrate me a little if I had a reserved membership to then have completely different seats for finals.

Or no seat at all.

Just for my own little rant, here is my recent experience with Ticketek:

1. My credit card is compromised for a bunch of transactions.
2. When rectifying the problem my bank incorrectly flagged a ticketek purchase as fraudulent when it wasn't.
3. As the bank withheld the funds from ticketek, ticketek blocked my account.
4. Have you ever tried calling ticketek? After raising complaints on their website, then via facebook, i finally get a number to speak to someone on.
5. In the meantime, create another ticketek account so I can buy tickets.
6. This account is blocked too (I assume because he used my Swans membership number which I had also used on the previous account).
7. My Dad tries to buy tickets for me, his account is blocked too (I assume because he also used my Swans membership number).
8. Both my accounts and my Dad's account remain blocked.

I'm asking my brother to buy tickets to the final on his own account, without using any number associated with me as I am clearly tainted. The only way I can see being able to use ticketek ever again is by creating a new identity.
