However, i find it interesting since Amartey's decision was first reported yesterday, that his Carlton contract keeps projecting downwards by the media. Last i heard it was now 5 x $800k? down from the original 5 x $1m+.

If accurate, this makes a mockery of the media speculation of there being a $1m difference between the two offers. It's appearing more like $500k.

It will be interesting how Chris Keane approaches this years draft. Ceteris paribus, the consensus on the draft after the first 5 to 8 players seems fairly even, so it may mean that we may pick up someone half decent if indeed we do receive an end of 1st round compensation pick for Joel..

Just occurred to me, with the very slight pay cut Charlie took in return for an extra year, he and Joel will be earning basically the same. I say this with no malice to Joel, but I know who's got the best value for money right now.

The club has now confirmed that Joel will be heading to Carlton. Best of luck to him, I can't fault a young man taking that opportunity if it was indeed a decent chunk of change in difference between the respective offers.

With Mills likely to miss most of next season (Gerard Healy thinks he may return by August), i think this increases Rampe's chances of going round again as cover for him.

I think Mills will still retain the captaincy, with Rowbottom who i think will be named as VC, to lead the side in Mills' absence.

Mate of mine who's a Hawks fan and forecast last year that Serong would exceed expectations said of their delistings, Bodie Ryan is the one you'd look at. A good, medium defender with an excellent leg on him.

Let’s wait until the B & F to see if the 5 can attend- this should be the first step in their re- integration. It seems the rest of the team wants them so this should be the decider for any of the 5 and rightly so. I don’t see how Blakey can have a complaint against the club if he was part of the “entertainment “!
