IMHO Ramps should go round again.. particularly as Will Edwards will be out for the majority of the year with his broken leg. Ramps has done enough and played to a high level to enable him to go round again. Whether he feels he is able to, or wants to, is another question.

I agree with you Syd76. Last i heard, Will Edwards was on track to commence training around Christmas and every chance to be available for R1 next season.
However, i see Rampe as a cover for Mills who will miss most of next season with his knee reco. Both from a leadership and onfield perspective. Hoping the likes of Bowman may step up.
Would like to see Rampe and Lloyd reach their 300th game milestones.Comment

I know this is a 2026 thread, but here's the free agents list for 2027.
Chad and Tom McCartin the priorities among our five. I know this might sound a bit weird to some, but I'd almost regard Tom as a higher priority. You want to keep both, obviously, but we should expect West Coast to throw $2m a year at Chad, with the early years front loaded to be higher.

I think of the 5 players listed coming into FA next year (Chad, McCartin, McLean, Jordan & Lloyd), all except maybe Lloyd pending form, the club will be keen to re-sign. Chad & Jordan will be pending on current legal outcome.
Rampe may also join the list if he decides to continue for another 12 mths (which i hope he does). He is currently a FA.

Interesringly they've linked us with Harry Himmelberg as a possible get from a needs basis.

I personally cant wait till Warner leaves our club and I was hoping that a silver lining from Freos loss might be that they think they need more dynamism in midfield and think he's the missing piece. I just cant handle his attitude holding the club to ransom after the 24 debacle and then this year saying lets see what happens when Tassie comes in. Just ship him out and lets work to a line up that wants to be at the club, mercenaries out.
Interesting also Rampe hasnt announced what he is doing, is that just waiting to see what happens with Blakey?He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

There is no way Warner will be going to Freo, they simply don’t have the salary cap space to contemplate such a move.
Warner has openly stated he wants to stay at the Swans next season.
We need all 5 players for next year if we want to be serious contenders, and there is no doubt in my mind we cannot do it without them.
Rampe is a different situation and he has to believe that he can endure another preseason and realistically contribute in 2027. He will not be able to play every game, however he certainly earned he place this year. It really has to be he alone who makes the decision. I don’t think it has anything to do with Blakey.Comment

After he knocked back Tassie then North saying he was very happy in Sydney with a new business venture? Wow.....quite strange and a little disappointing.
Also, I understand McVeigh's loyalty to the Bombers but gee, this surprised me.....

Also from the above article, Paps to undergo surgery on his knee after the "nothing to see here" leg take out against Freo in the prelim. Gee, that rule doesn't seem to apply to the Swans in finals does it?!Comment

Agreed, it would've decimated our coaching ranks had both Malceski and Buchanan also agreed to join McVeigh at Essendon. This was reported as being on the cards for sometime and no doubt the club had prepared in advance contracts to retain them. Getting & retaining assitants to NSW is difficult with the high COL.
I thought it was a matter of time before Longmire took up a football position elsewhere, but this timing did surprise everyone. I think the stars lined up in a way that made it to hard for him to refuse. Losing both Buchanan and Malceski would've been more significant, as Horse was not directly involved with the team.
We still have an assistant vacancy to fill with McVeigh's departure.
Also agree Paps injury does make a mockery of his non free kick.Comment
