I’d be happy with
A) Pick 6
B) Paul Curtis - I’d be very keen on. The kid can play and score plus just turned 23yrs old this year. Won’t break the bank $ contract. Provides some real scoreboard pressure and is equally good at taking big marks (185cm tall) as well as scooping off the ground / Papley quick minimum.
Curtis is almost 100 AFL games and 140 goals playing for a team that massively struggled….except for last season and in his first few years as an AFL player. If he was at the Swans you could argue he would have been closer to two goals a game ie his first four seasons of 12, 17, 30 and 38 goals (2026 he scored the 38 goals from 20 games).
C) plus Nick Murray via a future first rounder from Norths we can give to Adelaide plus probably we would need to give Adelaide one of our pick 30s (or a SA born player in return like Roberts?)……. I believe Blakey and Murray are with the same management …..for me Murray is exactly what we need for 2027 season ie athletic KPD at 195cm tall.
This combo of pick6, a small forward and a serious KPD) gives us some real draft power, a very attacking small medium forward ie Curtis can truly score plus Nick Murray and that is a serious trade haul.
i can’t see North letting Curtis go but they maybe more open to passing on the Murray opportunity for us to negotiate if Murray would consider Sydney.
For me if land pick 6 plus a future first rounder from North and NM back out of a trade for Murray and he comes to Sydney well that is a fairly strong result. Curtis on top would be a seriously good result.
